The Sino-Europe Agricultural Development Center (SEADC) was founded in 2011, jointly advocated by Wageningen University & Research Center (Wageningen UR), International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), and the Sino-Europe Technological Promotion Center (SETPC). The SEADC focuses on production, testing and breeding of ornamental, vegetable and fruit crops, extraction of effective ingredients (phytochemicals?) and other related modern agricultural technology, which will contribute to the horticulture and fruit industry of Fujian Province. The SEADC has established a firm cooperation relationship with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Wageningen University and Research Center (Wageningen UR), TNO The Netherlands, Beijing University of Technology, Fuzhou University, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other universities & institutions both in China and abroad. More than 50% of the SEADC personnel has a Doctorate or a Post-graduate degree. SEADC has set up various teams for vegetable breeding, bulb flower breeding, environmental experiments etc. So far, the SEADC has bred 11 new lily selections, 5 Zantedeschia selections and 4 Narcissus selections. The SEADC is an essential partner in the “System Construction of Technology Innovation” and ”Modern Agriculture Development” programs of the Fujian Government.
